A decent season, winning the F.A. Cup Qualifying Division in style, and reaching the semi finals of the two Charity Cup Competitions.  The weather was mainly good enabling more games to be played and therefore revenue to be gained to pay for professionalism.  The weather was, however, awful for the West Brom game which reduced attendance and revenue.  Snow had to be cleared for the Middlesbrough game and most expected the game to be called off – it was played in treacherous conditions and the crowds stayed away.

The club record was –

Played   32,  W 21,   L9,  D2,  Goals for 99,  Goals against 54

Known goal scorers – Cheshire, F. Whitby – 14;  Oclee, H. Whitby – 13;  G. Deacon – 11;  Taylor, Wright – 4;  Own goals – 3;  Dimmock – 2;  A. Whitby, Paul, Brown, King – 1 each.
